1) Scope & Definitions

Read first

This policy governs refunds and cancellations for paid access to The Aspirant News, including subscriptions, one-time purchases, add-ons, and event/webinar passes sold directly on our platform.

Subscription
Auto-renewing access billed monthly or annually.
Billing Cycle
The period you’ve paid for (e.g., 30 days / 365 days).
Effective Cancellation
When you turn off auto-renew before the next charge.
Prorated
Refund for the unused portion of a current billing cycle (when applicable).

2) Quick Summary

  • Subscriptions: Cancel anytime; access continues until the end of the paid period. We generally do not refund the current cycle once it starts, except in limited exceptions.
  • Accidental/Duplicate charges: Fully refundable if verified.
  • Technical issues on our side: Refund or credit when we can’t deliver reasonable service and you reported the issue promptly.
  • Trials: Cancel before trial ends to avoid charges. Charges after trial are non-refundable for that cycle.
  • Downloads & digital goods: Non-refundable once accessed, except where required by law.

3) Refund Eligibility

3.1 Eligible scenarios

  • Duplicate payment / double charge for the same account and period.
  • Fraudulent transaction where you did not authorize the payment (subject to verification).
  • Prolonged service outage on our end that materially prevents access for 48+ consecutive hours and you reported it during the outage.
  • Misbilling (e.g., charged wrong plan/amount) due to our error.

3.2 Ineligible scenarios (typical)

  • Change of mind after access to paid features/content started in the current cycle.
  • Failure to cancel before renewal when reminders and self-serve cancellation were available.
  • Issues caused by your device, internet, VPN, ad-blockers, or third-party tools.
  • Abuse: excessive downloading/scraping/sharing of paid content.

Note: Where local law mandates a cooling-off period or additional rights, we will comply with applicable law for your region.

4) Cancellation & Renewals

  • Self-serve cancellation: You can turn off auto-renew from your account settings at any time.
  • End of term: After cancellation, access continues until the end of the paid billing cycle; no further charges.
  • Immediate cancellation request: If you need immediate termination, contact support. Refunds for the remaining period are not guaranteed and are evaluated case-by-case (see Exceptions).
  • Plan changes: Upgrades apply immediately (difference charged). Downgrades start next cycle; the current cycle is not refunded.
  • Annual plans: Treated as a single, discounted term. Mid-term refunds are generally not offered unless eligible under Section 3.

5) Trials & Introductory Offers

  • Trials convert to paid on the stated date/time unless you cancel before the trial ends.
  • Once converted and charged, the current cycle is non-refundable unless covered by Section 3.
  • Introductory/limited-time pricing applies only to the first term unless otherwise stated.

6) Digital Goods / Downloads

Reports, PDFs, datasets, or other downloadable items are non-refundable once accessed or downloaded, except for defective files we cannot replace within a reasonable time.

7) Payment Issues, Gateways & Chargebacks

7.1 Gateways

We process payments via trusted gateways (e.g., cards, UPI, net-banking, wallets). Currency conversion fees, foreign transaction fees, and taxes are set by your bank/gateway.

7.2 Failed / pending payments

  • Failed/declined: No access is granted; retry or use another method.
  • Pending/held: Access is granted after gateway confirmation.

7.3 Duplicate charges

Verified duplicates are refunded in full to the original method.

7.4 Chargebacks

If you file a chargeback, your access may be suspended while the investigation is ongoing. Proven misuse may lead to account closure.

8) How to Request a Refund

  1. Collect details: order ID, payment date/time, amount, last 4 digits of card (if card), email/phone on account, and a brief reason.
  2. Submit request: Email info@theaspirantnews.com or use the in-app Help form.
  3. Verification: We may request additional proof (bank statement line item, screenshots of error, etc.).
If approved, the refund will be issued to the original payment method only.

9) Processing Timelines

  • Review time: Typically within 3–5 business days.
  • Refund posting: Gateways/banks usually post within 5–10 business days after we issue the refund. International cards may take longer.
  • Credits: In some cases, we may offer account credits instead of refunds (validity will be stated at issuance).

10) Exceptions, Abuse & Fair Use

  • Goodwill adjustments: We may grant a one-time courtesy refund or credit at our discretion.
  • Abuse safeguards: Excessive downloads, account sharing, scraping, or repeated refund requests may lead to denial and/or account action.
  • Bundles & coupons: Refunds, if any, are limited to the amount actually paid after discounts.
  • Third-party purchases: If you paid via an app store/marketplace, follow that store’s refund process.
