Introduction
Goa Shipyard Limited (GSL) has invited online applications for 40 vacancies across various posts. Applications can be submitted at goashipyard.in from 23 October 2026 to 22 November 2026. The recruitment drive includes Chief General Manager, Additional General Manager / Deputy General Manager, Additional General Manager, Manager, and other positions. About GSL
Goa Shipyard Limited (shipbuilders, shiprepairers and engineers) is a Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Defence. It is a Schedule 'A' Mini Ratna Category-I company at Vaddem, Vasco-da-Gama, Goa – 403 802. GSL designs and builds ships for the Indian Navy, the Indian Coast Guard and other customers, including friendly foreign countries. Important Instructions
- Candidates working in Government / Quasi Government / Public Sector Undertakings / Autonomous Bodies must apply through proper channel, or produce a "No Objection Certificate" at the time of the selection process. Without it they will not be allowed to take part. They must also produce a document showing their current pay scale and the date since which they have been in it.
- A No Objection Certificate is not required for the fixed term employment posts. However, GSL will bear no liability for salary/leave salary/gratuity/pension contribution etc. of a candidate's previous employment in Government/Public Sector Undertakings.
- Applications made in any other manner, or filled online contrary to the instructions, will be rejected.
- Meeting the qualifications does not by itself entitle a candidate to be called for selection. A candidate can be disqualified at any stage for not meeting the eligibility criteria.
- GSL Management may increase or reduce the number of vacancies, may fill or not fill a post, and may fill future vacancies from the valid panel. It may cancel the selection process if not enough candidates apply or are shortlisted, and may cancel the advertisement without giving reasons.
- Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate. Interim enquiries will not be entertained.
- Candidature may be rejected for false or fabricated information or suppression of facts, even after selection. Management may ask for additional documentary evidence of education, experience and CTC/pay scale.
- Corrigenda, names of eligible candidates, the date of selection and the names/roll numbers of selected candidates will be posted on the website under "Notice Board - Careers - Advertisement".
- Management may deploy selected candidates in any location or department as the company requires, irrespective of the post they were selected for. For any dispute, the jurisdiction is Goa only.

| Reservation | The reservation for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) is shown against each post. Reserved-category candidates who meet the eligibility criteria may also apply for UR posts as per Govt. Rules. If they apply for a post with no vacancy in their own reserved category, they are treated as General candidates and get no relaxation in any criteria. | |
| Reserved-category candidates must submit a caste certificate in the Prescribed Proforma for "Appointment to posts under the Government of India" from the designated authority. It must state the candidate's caste, the Act/Order under which the caste is recognized as SC/ST/OBC (NCL), and the village/town where the candidate ordinarily lives. The OBC (NCL) certificate should not be more than 06 months old at the time of joining. | ||
| PwBD candidates must submit a disability certificate from the designated authority, as stipulated in the Rights of Persons with Disabilities Act, 2016, clearly stating the percentage of disability. Conditions classed as "Likely to improve" under the temporary disability category are not eligible for reservation. Conditions classed as "progressive, non-progressive or not likely to improve" are treated as eligible. | ||

Selection Process & Exam Pattern
All posts except Junior Manager are filled through an interview only. Junior Manager candidates take a written test of 85 marks and an interview of 15 marks, and selection is on the combined merit of both.
Q9. Are the GSL fixed term posts permanent?
No. The six Part B posts are fixed term employment, initially for 03 years and extendable by up to 2 years, and are not against a regular post. GSL gives no assurance of regular employment after the term ends.

How to Apply
GSL accepts applications only through its online application system, followed by a hard copy sent by post. Online applications open at 00.00 hrs on 23 October 2026 and close at 17.00 hrs on 22 November 2026.
- Visit www.goashipyard.in. Under the link Notice Board- 'Careers', click the link 'GSL Careers'.
- Click the 'Apply Online' button and select the post you wish to apply for.
- Complete the personal information in the online application form, then fill in the payment details.
- Pay the application fee of Rs. 500/- online through SBI e-pay (debit card/ credit card/ net banking etc.). Wait for the intimation from the server and do not press back or refresh, to avoid double charges.
- Download and print the "Fee receipt" generated on successful payment. If no fee receipt is generated, the payment has failed: log in again and repeat the payment.
- SUBMIT the application form. Without this step the form is treated as incomplete, and it cannot be edited after the online application is completed.
- Take two printouts of the system-generated online application form. Send one, with all relevant documents, to: General Manager (HR&A), HR&A Department, Goa Shipyard Limited, Vasco-Da-Gama, Goa – 403802. Keep the second copy for future reference.
- The printout and hard copies of the relevant documents must reach GSL on or before 2 December 2026.
