Questions are prepared as per the syllabus published on the SSB Odisha website (ssbodisha.ac.in/syllabus).
In case of a tie, preference goes to the candidate with higher aggregate marks in the Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent)
if the tie persists, the older candidate is selected.
If conducted in OMR mode, the exam is held in different districts of Odisha (based on candidates' preferred district)
if conducted in CBT mode, it is held in multiple shifts at designated centres across the state.

Vacancy & Eligibility
Educational Qualification A candidate should have passed Bachelor Degree with Honours in the respective practical subject (as applicable to the post/subject applied for). Other Eligibility Conditions - Must be a citizen of India and a resident of the State of Odisha. - Must be able to speak, read, and write Odia, and must have had Odia as a language subject in the H.S.C. Examination (or equivalent), or have passed a test in Odia language equivalent to the Middle School Standard. - Candidates with academic qualifications from outside Odisha must produce proof of equivalence from a recognized University/Institution/Council/Board of Odisha, and proof of affiliation of their institution to a recognized University/Council/Board. - Candidates with grades/grade-points must furnish the numerical equivalence of grades issued by the examining body. - Must not have more than one spouse living (subject to exemptions under personal law, as permitted by Government). - Government servants (temporary or permanent) with the requisite qualification and within the age limit are eligible, provided they inform their Head of Office in writing and produce a "No Objection Certificate" before document verification. Important: A candidate must be of good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the discharge of duties. Failure to satisfy the prescribed medical examination will bar appointment to the service.

- Identity Card of Sportspersons issued by the Dept. of Youth & Sports Services, Govt. of Odisha, wherever applicable
- No Objection Certificate from current employer, wherever applicable
Important Conditions
- Admission to the Written Examination is provisional; candidature is liable to rejection at any stage if eligibility criteria are not fulfilled.
- This advertisement does not bind the Government to make an appointment, and mere empanelment in the select list confers no right to appointment.
- Hall Tickets (Admit Cards) must be downloaded from the SSB website; they are not sent separately to candidates.
- Candidates claiming SC/ST/SEBC status must submit the relevant caste certificate issued by the competent authority (Collector & District Magistrate, Addl. District Magistrate, Sub-Divisional District Magistrate, Sub-Collector, or Revenue Officer not below Additional Tahasildar); SEBC certificates must be issued within the last three years of the application closing date.
- The reservation categories claimed in the online application (UR, SC, ST, SEBC, PwD, ESM, Sports, Women) are treated as final; no subsequent request for change will be entertained.
- PwD, Ex-Servicemen, and Sports Person candidates selected under their respective reservation (4%, 3%, and 1%) will be adjusted against the category to which they belong.
- The provisions of the Odisha Conduct of Examinations Act, 1988 (as amended) apply to this examination.
