Selective Sight: What a Camera-Ready Police Force Chooses Not to See
Viral videos from the July 20 Jantar Mantar protest showed male police officers, including a senior officer, slapping and using a lathi against women protesters. While Delhi Police deployed AI-based facial recognition and surveillance technology to track down protesters, it has not named or acted against the officers seen in the assault footage. The Supreme Court is currently hearing a PIL on the matter.
