Reuters reported, citing two sources with direct knowledge of the matter, that India's Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas is weighing a levy of ₹1.29 per kg on LPG and ₹1.43 per standard cubic metre on natural gas to fund new LNG and LPG storage infrastructure, extending India's Strategic Petroleum Reserve model - currently crude-only and centrally funded - to cover gas for the first time.
