China released a white paper titled "More Just and Equitable Global Governance" in June 2026, consolidating its Global Governance Initiative - first proposed by President Xi Jinping at the September 2025 SCO summit - into a comprehensive alternative vision for global rule-making in domains from AI to international finance, having already attracted 43 countries, including 21 from Africa, as "Friends of GGI."
