Farmers Don't Need Permission to Assemble. Haryana Police Just Said They Do.
Samyukt Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) farmers gathered at the Khanauri-Data Singh Wala border on August 16 to begin a 228-km foot march to Delhi, but Haryana Police sealed the inter-state point with multi-layer barricading, saying the farmers lacked permission. SKM leader Jagjit Singh Dallewal called the barricading proof of the government's "anti-farmer face," alleging some outfit leaders were also detained ahead of the march.
